It was a good very quiet and peaceful base, excellent for visiting the beautiful West Cumbrian lakes, the coast and attractions. Good food was available in the nearby village of Beckermet.

Brilliant place to stay - lots to do despite the weather. Having the beach so close was great and local people really friendly and helpful. So much to do in the area would deffinately go back again. It was so nice to go back to the cottage - it was warm, comfortable and homely. The welcome pack was so nice and the videos and books were so nice to have.

The cottage is perfect and sleeps 6 comfortably. Very close to the Wast Water (which is the big lure for us) and Mrs Wadey, the landlady is an absolute joy - friendly, helpful and always leaves the essentials so that you feel at home as soon as you arrive. This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and we can't think of anything that could possibly make it more enjoyable. We are always sorry to leave.

What a lovely cosy peaceful quiet location, ideal for exploring from. Muncaster castle with owl centre a must see. Also Ambleside among other places.
